Perhaps you know of Jonathan Goldman and his wife Andi. She is a psychologist and he is a well-known sound healer. Together they just released a book about how we can use humming to have greater health and happiness. Although he is a big proponent of the use of tuning forks and other healing sound devices, he has discovered the incredible power of the human voice when it is simply humming.
I have heard other people say we can use humming to calm ourselves; but, his research takes this to an entirely new level. What a great low-cost, self-directed, and approachable way to raise our energy. I tried it a bit yesterday and found it very soothing. And I remembered that my mother, who was a musician and teacher, used to hum all the time when she drove us somewhere in the car. I wonder if she knew this instinctively?
I've mentioned listening to the Solfeggio Frequencies and how I like to do that every day. I wonder about humming along with those frequencies to enhance the effect. Can't hurt so why not!
