If you're slow, you're slow!

One of the books I have been re-reading recently is Still Here by Ram Dass. He wrote it in the 1990's after his stroke and it is full of wisdom about healing and aging and death. One of the things he wrote about is how as we get older, we tend to slow down. We walk and move more slowly, he says. And for him, after his stroke, he had to relearn walking and talking and just about everything!

Here's what he suggests and this applies to anyone who is experiencing some sort of physical challenge, not just older adults! Instead of fighting what's happening to you, focus on it. If you tend to walk more slowly, then focus on the joy of walking more slowly and pay attention to your surroundings. Experience what it's like to move slowly and savor it.

This is another version of accepting what is and living from that place of acceptance. There isn't a soul on this planet who can't benefit from this teaching! Practicing it leads to great peace and wisdom.

After not doing my Keeping It Real TV show for the last month, I did two today and they should be posted tomorrow or Wednesday. One is with Janet Conner about living our soul's purpose and the other is Mark Dodich's May astrological weather report! I think you'll enjoy both of them!
