It's been a week since I saw my cardiologist and the last time we had some great humor. (You can find that post below if you're interested.) It'll be fun to see what happens today. As far as I can tell, everything is going well but who knows what she will think! This heart business is certainly an up and down process. As the song goes, "Some days you're the windshield and some days you're the bug."
I found myself doing something yesterday that I need to stop doing. I put another person's "emergency" ahead of my own scheduled work and because of that I am now a day behind my schedule. This comes from the old Catholic background, I think, where we're taught to suffer and put ourselves last.
There's a fine line, don't you think, between being responsible and responsive and giving to others and always putting ourselves last. I'll be thinking and acting on this today and see what happens! I thought I had gotten pretty good about this but perhaps not...growth happens in spirals. We get to visit the same issues many times in different ways until we "get it!" It's long past time I get this one!
