We're living in a political thriller

Because I am a book reviewer as well as a spiritual student, I read a lot of uplifting and inspirational books. One of the ways I stay grounded is that I usually have some sort of mystery book or thriller that I am reading. Right now, I don't think I need such as book. All I need to do is read the newspapers! We are in the midst of one of the most interesting political thrillers of all times.

What makes for a great thriller is the sense of suspense, the not-knowing what the main characters will do. Our current president fills the bill and more some, doesn't he? What goes on in his mind? How much of what he does is truly calculated and how much flows from some sort of character disorder? Is he mentally unstable or wily like a fox? And who is going to be the hero of this story?

Who is going to have the political courage to stand up to him and to the ruling party and say enough is enough? And while all of this plays out, there's us little people living our daily lives against this backdrop of mystery and intrigue. How will all of this affect us? How will this affect upcoming legislation, healthcare, immigration and the myriad of other issues facing our country? Will the president involve us in some sort of terrible war just to get the attention off of all of this?

I don't have those answers. Like you, I get up every day to live my life to the fullest in as much integrity and love as possible. I wish those folks in Washington would do the same, don't you?
